IMMENSE IT POTENTIAL IN AUSTRALIA:
SAYS ESC @ CeBIT AUSTRALIA 2012
Australia is emerging an important IT destination for Indian IT services companies to create market niches. In order to provide the Indian IT industry especially the SMEs an exposure to strengthen and augment their IT services exports, the Council set up an INDIA pavilion at CeBIT Australia 2012 during 22–24 May 2012, Sydney International Convention Centre, Sydney, Australia. At CeBIT Australia 2012, India was designated the status of PARTNER COUNTRY.
The event was graced by Mr Sachin Pilot, Hon’ble Minister of State for IT, Government of India and Mr Andrew Stoner, Deputy Premier of NSW & Minister for Trade & Environment, Australia. Also other important accompanies included Mr Biren Nanda, India’s Ambassador to Australia, Mr J Sathyanarayana, Secretary, Department of Electronics & IT, Ministry of Communications & IT, Government of India, Mr J K Dadoo, Joint Secretary, Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India and many other senior Government officials.
By organising Indian IT participation, ESC’s efforts were towards empowering the Indian software industry to forge meaningful deals with Australian partners and also to assist in identifying Australian companies who were keen to source the best of Indian IT products & services.
The Indian IT contingent at CeBIT Australia included 26 Indian IT companies under the banner of ESC. The Software and services displayed at the INDIA Pavilion included Software & Application development, Mobile Applications Services, ERP Insurance claims, Banking, Infrastructure Management, BPO services, Security, Testing and many more. The event resulted in providing a strong foothold to the member companies to explore and create niches in Australia. From the feedback, all the member companies made useful marketing and business tie-ups / alliances.
According to the feedback of the Indian exhibitors, it is learnt, that the exhibitors generated around 1200 business queries with estimated Rs 25 crore orders on site. The enquiries generated will further materialize in developing more business alliances in near future. Several business deals, MOUs, were also signed at the spot, as indicated by SOD Technologies, Rishabh Software, Softlabs Solutions Ltd, etc.
The event provided an opportunity to interact with business delegates across the world, particularly from Australia, New Zealand, Fiji which is the most unique benefit. |
